The Powell River Digital Film School congratulates PRDFS Student, Zach Nelson, who has won, “ Best Documentary” for his film “Matty” at this year’s 5 minute film contest. As well, last years film camp students Brittany Geister and Shannon Ross have won “Best Overall Film” for their film “Reach Out” And finally, we honour Alyssa Stapleton, for her PRDFS film “The Toxic Footprint of Bottled Water”, which will be showing in the main festival lineup. Congrats to you all for such wonderful accomplishments. Film on!
The Screenings take place at Brook Secondary February 17 to 19th.

If you are from out of town and decide to join the team, how would you survive Ina new town for 5 months? Well first of all you are in a 5 Month course and it is up to you to decide how good your projects are going to be as they will represent you on your journey after the course. So you can spend lots of time working on that but that being said what else?

You will be billeted for 750 per month is a families house close to where the school is. All families are registered and will be offering room and board for that price.

The program runs from Monday to Thursday 9 to 3 if close to PR you can visit home from Thursday evening till Sunday and back for Monday. If not then there are beautiful areas for hiking, fishing, and just hanging out as well as Library, tennis courts, jogging track, full amenities swimming pool at the near by complexq and more.

Digital Film School Begins

The Powell River Digital Film School begins in 2012 on February 1st at Brooks Secondary in Powell River BC. Classes will begin at 9AM and end at 3PM with 40 minutes for lunch. Spring Break this year will be from March 12 to the 25th.
